A few years ago a 17 and a 24 landed at the airport near my house (Home of War Eagles Air Museum) and came over low and slow. No other sound in the world like that. I was just lucky enough to be out in the yard when they came in. I jumped in the car and ran out to the airport, it was just passsed sundown and watched them taxi up to the museum. An acquaintance from the Rotary club that did his 25 missions in a 17 over Europe was there to watch them come it. Quite a site.
