I would try the modified tach approach first. You could always mount a generator and alternator. Later model tachs, and aftermarket tachs are cheap and plentiful. If you are ready to go through the trouble of modding a smog pump maybe you could look at just modding the alternator with some sort of slot in the shaft and a bolt on boss that adapts the tach drive cable to the alternator. Just a few thoughts, not meant to discourage. Cheers, Derf |
