2 ways to reinstall the d/shaft to the trans.
1) have a helper with a long screwdriver or suitable rod guide the 
floppy end into the trans via the grease fitting hole in the tunnel 
while you push and listen to his/her instructions as he/she peers into 
the 1" hole semi blocked with a screwdriver.
2) tape up the end of the shaft so it's semi ridged, take aim from the 
rear of the car and shove it right in ;)
The tape will scare the crap out of you when it starts to flop around in 
the tunnel but it will come off in a couple miles.
