OK, nobody wants to discourage me from this. Here is more background.
My dad acquired the car from one of his customers. Supposedly it was
running 10 years before when they parked it behind their house, but I could
not get the engine to rotate. I pulled the head and found a lot of rust in
the cylinders, so I don't know what happened to it. First order of business
is to get it to my house. Second order of business is to pull the engine
and start on it. Tomorrow I'm going to try to round up tires and find a
tire store that will work on wire wheels. If successful there, I may be
able to get the car to my house next week.
As for my background- my father owns a garage and body shop in a small town.
I worked there during high school and college, so I have a good background
in general automotive mechanics. Now I'm a structural engineer.
