Hello Bud, i have made such a chart for my own use, Datsun 5 speed, 4.22 rear end....175/70 13 tires is as follows... 1st gear, 1000 rpms = 4.4 mph 2nd gear, 1000 rpms = 7.15 mph 3rd gear, 1000 rpms = 11.75 mph 4th gear, 1000 rpms = 15.5 mph 5th gear, 1000 rpms = 18.3 mph with a standard ribcase... 1st, 1000 rpm, 4.8 2nd, " " 7.9 3rd " " 11.2 4th " " 15.5 note that 1st, 2nd, 3rd are slightly lower than stock, 4th is exactly the same, (a one to one ratio) and 5th give you about 18% overdrive.... in 5th gear (datsun) every 500 rpm ~ 9 mph... thus frank c.'s claim of 80 mph, at 4500 rpm.. -- Best regards, Bill mailto:pythias@pacifier.com "66 Sprite |
