Suspect the points.
Do you have that insulator washer in the correct spot?
Turn on the key, remove the dizzy cap, flick the points with a
screwdriver, see if they spark.
If they do, now hold the coil wire via a screwdriver close to the end of
the coil, flick the points again, now you should have a spark jump from
the coil to screwdriver. If you do, the coil is good. But you need the
spark at the points first.
If I have troubles like you are having, I just run a hotwire from + side
of battery to the coil (+ side) and flick the points.
