On the most recent rebuild of the 1275 in my car, I had the piston crowns,
valve faces and the turbocharger innards ceramic coated. We still havn't
had a 100 degree day yet, but I can alread see the temp is lower and heat
rise in traffic is slower. Not all attributable to the coatings however, as
an aluminum rad and elec fan was added as well. One coating benefit does
seem to be less heat soak on shut down. Hot restarts are easier and temp
guage doesn't rise as much over the 10 minutes after shutting off.
David Anton did the pistons and valves, the turbo shop did the turbo guts.
