Bob...
Doesn't surprise me, Bob but with respect, I just got the airplane
safely
and comfortably from A to B, with
"schedule" being my last priority,
collected my check and went home.
The major regional I worked and flew for,
for many many years was bought by
American in 1998. Sure, we had our
problems but it was a reasonably good
employer to work for.
I had no problem working them of
their successors who bought them out, but
did I not say and have I not said that
American was one of the most "user"
unfriendly employers I have ever worked
for? I mean I liked my part of the company
and my part of the job and while I supported my union I stayed pretty
much
uninvolved in that aspect of the job but,
that didn't mean I was unaware of what
the union was doing and things that were
going on after AMR bought us out.
You would not believe the childishness
of mangement...you just wouldn't believe
it...gradeschool ambiance. The lack of
honesty, integrity, ethics...unbelievable.
Everything any worker has gotten has
been bloodily fought for over the last
40 years by unions. Horrible, horrilble
"adverse" management/labor relations
and rule by fear and intimidation.
Their website screwed up? That would
be the least of managment's screwups.
These guys are great at taking responsibility when things are going
well,
but will not take responsibility for their
leadership decisions when these result
in errors and things go bad. They throw
out more money than labor could ever
cost them with 25% raises across the
board for labor as a group!!
Look what just happened recently with
respect to worker givebacks and top
management bonuses, etc., after the
fact at American. You really think they
are the only ones doing this sort of
thing?
American is representative of a lot
of management teams out there today...
take care of themselves at the expense
of the little guy average worker AND
the paying customer! I have no investments in union airlines, including
my prior employer, Bob. Never got involved in any other part of the
business
except operational flying. I did not hate my employer nor would I do
anything other than my best for him. I earned
my paycheck fairly and squarely.
We just had management teams of a
bunch of companys rob the taxpayer/
investor and the economy of 600
billion(?) dollars (by some estimates)
by fixing the stock market.
Absolutely nothing surprises me about
todays corporate management cultures...
absolutely nothing. With exceptions, they
are a disgrace as are the CEO's and
their buddies who "run" them.
They can go to hell and I hope they
do! Aren't you glad you asked!! <VBG>
