A standard 1275 intake manifold is sized for 1 1/4" SUs, so will not
flow well with the HIF4 (1 1/2") SUs. You can purchase a larger intake
manifold from the performance vendors (MiniMania, APT, etc) that is
designed to flow better and is specifically for 1 1/2" SUs. Costs about
$125-150.

Another option ("we tight") is one I learned from some spridget racers &
I had built myself for dual HIF4s. I bought a used MGB intake (cheap),
which is sized for 1 1/2" SUs. The length is too long so I cut the
center out (been too long to remember dimension but maybe 1"?). The
manifold is alumimum so was easy to cut with handsaw. I couldn't find
anyone local to weld aluminum, so I cut & inserted a length (3"+-)of
aluminum pipe to hold halves together & then used JB Weld between. It's
a good idea to bolt manifold to something flat (board?) so halves will
be flush with head. Also the mounting plates of manifold are wider than
head bolts, so each mount needs to be shortened (1/4"+). A round file
easily resizes & lines-up the bolt holes. Sanded & polished manifold &
it looked great, also looks very similar to standard spridget intake
manifold. I think I had $25 & 2 hours invested.
