Of course...it's never too late to go ahead and get the appropriate literature. 
 When I go into a project of some magnitude like this, I read, then make a 
plan.  Re-read, then go over my plan again.  It's like one of those "measure 
twice, cut once" sort-of things.  
But I would agree with not over compensating for sag...to answer your question.
