Sheeesh. Finally got a beautiful warm afternoon to
finish up the brakes on the Sprite. Mastercylinder
assembled and installed. Brake fluid in.
Attached the ultra-deluxe home made bleeder
contraption and pressure does not seem to go through
to force out fluid.
Is there something wrong with my rocket science here?
I hooked an air hose to the top of the mastercylinder.
With MC cap on and inside the cap spill blocking thing
removed I attached a tire valve stem to a 3" rubber
pipe cap with a hose type clamp. Applying about ten
pounds of pressure. I can tell it is applying pressure
because the rubber attachment "domes" up.
Question: Does the brake pedal have to be in a
particular position to let the pressure through.
Should I use more than 10 pounds of pressure? Or have
I mis-understood the principle of pressure bleeding.
I may have to wait for my wife to come home to
manually bleed the brakes.
rats, darn, phooey, bill b. '69 Sprite
