Think it is probably more a function of the dirt roads along the border in
Arizona. A 4 wheel drive Jeep probably would have fared better, but that
terrain is rough on vehicles any way you look at it, even assuming they stay
on the roads, such as they are. As for the Yosemite busses, that's obviously
your tax dollars at work. Wonder how good or available they are if someone
decided to buy one of them? This has always been a ploy for getting new
vehicles into the hands of friends, but buses don't seem like attractive
vehicles for private ownership.
