Does sound as if you have the best of both worlds. It is also obvious that
the US is in a horrendous position in terms of medical care. If you are very
rich or very poor you can afford or get good healthcare. If you are in the
middle, you'd better hope to be very healthy.
I was beginning to feel like an unpatriotic rotter as I arranged to have most
of our prescription medication supplied by a drugstore in Canada. It seems
that by prohibiting advertising of drugs, among other things, the Canadians
can make deals with the manfacturers that allows them to sell them at 1/2 to
2/3 the mail order price in the US. With our personal medication costing
about $500/month, I'll grab the savings, so long as it is legal and safe.
