I just bought a new Dell.
It wasn't quite dead in the box but died less than 5 minutes after I turned it
on.
Tech finally came out and replaced the power supply, he turned it on and it died
in less than 5 minutes.
When Dell's Tech is on hold for about 45 minutes, that has to make you wonder.
When he told me it was junk, I agreed and am still waiting for the paper work so
they can get it back.
I am going to the local guy in a local shop who actually answers the phone.
Like my local ISP, they have a 3 choice menu and somebody usually picks up the
phone in tech up til 10:00 pm. And the guy can fix my problem over the phone or
atleast tell my if it's me, them, or the phone company.
Like Jay said, Dell phone tech assumes you are a complete idiot!
When I finally got thru after 1.25 hours on hold, they asked me if it was
plugged
in? If maybe my power strip was bad? then they told me to have the house current
checked by a qualified electrian.
I told them I have a meter on the plug that goes into the tower, it reads 117
volts, the problem is in this brand new chinese computer!
At least the cat likes to sleep on the box, that's about all it's good for.
