Hi there!

Does anyone know if a mechanical switch will function properly with an older
brake pedal? The pedal box that was transplanted in, does have the threaded
hole to accept it, but I seem to remember that the shape of the brake pedal
was different to meet the switch. I was driving the other day and the car
in front of me braked suddenly. I merely removed my foot from the
accelerator ( in 1st ) and then pushed in the clutch when I saw the guy
behind me braking hard and catching up. Several blocks later, he pulled up
beside me and told me that my brake lights weren't working. I have always
been suspect of the switch and when I checked the brakelights found that
they do not come on with moderate pressure.

I have heard here many times that modern replacement release bearings are
not reliable. Has anyone ever sourced a good manufacturer/supplier for
these? Or are god ones just a piece of history now?

Anyone out that prays, can you include my dad for awhile? He's living in
intensive care while they source a doctor to perform the triple bypass /
valve replacement.
