Hello folks,
I did everything according to the Haynes, but when I tighten the front
hub castellated nuts to their minimum specified torque, the hubs rotate
only barely, i.e. they are very tight. I'm sure I drove the bearings
square and all the way into their hub recesses.
Given the fact that I don't posess a "18G7" special tool, I drove the
hubs in with a long 3/4" socket on the outer hub's inner race. It
doesn't seem to be fully in though.
Any ideas/tips?
This car has drum brakes at the front and solid wheels.
