Read my reply again, I wrote "in the hub" not the bearing itself... I think
one would go nuts trying to dimple the bearing itself...'-)<<<<
That is my preferred solution also. A series of dimples with a punch will
raise the metal in the hub making an adhesive unnecessary. I once
"over-dimpled and had to hone it slightly to achieve the proper interference
fit. The dimpling is a form of "we tight knurling".
