Mike,

You could quickly test out if the switch is the culprit by putting a jumper
across the two contacts on the back of the ignition switch. If the lights
were dead too, I'd check the browm wire that gives juice right from the
battery, or maybe the A or A1 connection at the voltage regulator. A and A1
are connected internally and I've seen the copper strap underneath the base
burn through. Maybe your starter problem stressed the system somewhere
else. The good thing is that I didn't see the word "smoke" in your message
anywhere!...'-)
