Greetings
I am very close to bolting the Datsun tranny to the block and putting it
back in - hopefully this weekend. I have some questions:
1. When the installation instructions say to "adjust" the heater box
"slightly upward" can anybody give me an idea of what constitutes
"slightly"? 1/2" 3/4" etc. Mainly in the center or for 2-3 inches either
side of the center line? I did grind off the top edge of the bell housing
as per the instructions.
2. I am having a bit of difficulty fitting the clutch slave to the tranny.
I am using a relatively new slave I bought a couple of years ago. I don't
see a manufacturer stamped on it but if it makes a difference it is gold in
color. To provide enough room for the bolts to turn when I tighten them I
will have to grind away part of the slave body itself. Has anybody else
had to do this?
3. The ribcase was filled with oil through the opening in the tunnel.
What is the best way to fill the Datsun tranny? Do I need a pump of some
kind?
4. Any and all words of wisdom and installation tips are very welcome and
will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all
Dave
