When introduced the Midget cost a few dollars/pounds more. The only real
difference is the chrome strips and the heavier grille. Remember, back when
the squarebodies first hit the market in 1961 Austin-Healey was still a fairly
new name. MG had history. The Midget name had history back to 1929. Apart from
Spridgets, however, Austin Healey built a higher-performance car and now
Healeys have quite a bit more badge value in most circles.
