Ed,
Just what is your problem? Are you saying everyone with an unfinished
restoration should stay away from an event that is held open to the public at
large? It's very admirable that you "donate" to these events when you have no
car to show. What category should I have registered under? Half finished
restoration? Do they come to my house to judge the tub?
This was a 5 day meet. I told the Kitterer's that my car was not completed
and so would not register for the meet. Bob suggested I show up on Tuesday for
the popular judging event as all the cars would be in one place. I stayed about
two hours and took pictures along with many other non-participants from the
general public who had the same opportunity as I did to talk to anyone at the
meet. I would not have shown up if I thought I was not welcome under the
circumstances.
There were also several big Healeys in the parking lot from local owners
who
showed up for this one event, but did not register. I guess we should get their
names and send those other deadbeats a bill also for the privilege of attending
a
public event. Or maybe everyone with a membership in a club that is hosting one
of these meets should be forced to pay for registration, even if they will not
be
attending.
By the way Ed, I "saved" $95, not $75.
