I have run Flat tops on a 1275 in a Morris Minor I built several years
ago.... Yeah I am a weirdo... but how many folks you know want to Race on
Salt?

anyway.. there are several disadvantages of 11.5 - 12:1 compression...
mostly the opportunity to keep a Can of Race gas available to run the dam
thing ....The Higher the Compression ratio the slower you want the fuel to
burn... in our 10:1 motor we ran Aviation Fuel.... in the 14:1 Motor we ran
112-118 octane Racing fuel... and we are back to a 11:1 motor for the Meet
this weekend..(back up motor) but the overlap and size of the valves
coupled with a .680 lift cam... means we have to go back to Race fuel...

Now on to the JP 4 part.... Jet Fuel is nothing more then Low Grade
Kerosene... I will grant you that it is Highly Filtered.... but it isn't a
Great High Compression fuel.... a Turbine engine will run on about
anything.... from Kerosene to Diesel to Low Lead to Pump gas.... it just
changes the Exhaust or Turbine outlet temp.

100/4 , Bugeye, Box Sprites... the Camaro LSR... and of course about
5000 hrs in an Attack helicopter.....
