Bruce,

Have you inspected your rocker shaft for wear? The underside of the shft
will develop "ruts" at each rocker. Perhaps this is allowing one of the
rockers to shift position slightly causing he intermittent click. The other
thing I can think of as a possible cause is a worn tappet (lifter, not thew
pushrod). It's rotation might be reducing or increasing the gap at the
rocker. Just a couple thoughts.
