Are the threads really ok on a US pipe thread plug for this
application? I seem to remember reading a book about MGB's which
warned about the threads in the B's oil sump plug (and a few other
"plumbing" locations) being BSP (British Standard Pipe?), and
incompatible with US standard pipe threads. Not knowing myself, it
scared me away from doing such substititutions on the Midget. If the
nominal sizes are close between the US and British, a substitution
would probably work for a couple of on-offs, since it's a force-fit
anyway for pipe threads, but I'd worry about the thing eventually
distorting the threads too much to seal on repeated removals. Anyone
know about British pipe thread and if this is an issue for Spridgets?
