I recommend installing in the engine bay!
Have done it on several cars using the glass seethru Purolator filters with
changeable center elements. Allows you to see gas flow and check the filer for
brown sudge build up as well
Locate it far enough away from your exhaust manifold.
I have added a section of tubing to form a slight bend and have it lay along the
inner fender well, sort of opposite the carbs.
A cable tie will secure it and or the lines so bumps and slaps will not occur.
