OK, you asked! ;)
I've got a good 68 Sprite donor body that I am preparing for a transplant of
innards from a 67 car that runs well but is pretty rusty (sills, floors,
bonnet, rear, etc).
I'd love to refer to the completed operation as a 67 as far as the DMV is
concerned - I imagine that in 68 there were emissions bits added that I
would rather not. I would like to fill in the 68's reverse lights and use
my exisiting two wiper setup which means filling and drilling the 68's 3
wiper holes.
It also seems as if I would not be able to easily exchange the body #
stamping from the right front damper mount as I believe it is a welded on
section and the front-end geometry is not something I want to screw up.
Should I A) find a buyer for the 68 shell and just start looking for a
better 67 shell or B) dig into the 68 as planned? Do the Heritage shells
still exist or are they several K-bucks?
Thanks in advance for this info.
cheers,
tim
