You get to carry a gun in New York City (is that what NYC is?)? I thought
that was one of the more restrictive states?
I live in Canada. Here you can carry a handgun with a trigger lock and in
a locked case in a locked trunk (or out of sight if you do not have a
trunk) ammunition stored seperately, with the required safety courses and a
shooting club membership with the right renewable permits and having
undergone background checks by the RCMP and a face to face with a firearms
control officer and you had better be between the club and your home and
not be someplace that could be conceivably astray from that path. The new
legislation is making it more restrictive. (The next protest of the new
legislation that allows wide search and seizure parameters (the requirement
for a search warrant will be refusal of a voluntary inspection and if the
word firearm or similar is on (or is suspected of being on) your computer
(or anything else), it can be confiscated with no requirement to return it
or compensate) is tomorrow, Tues. 22nd. At least it is not against the law
to protest yet, although the prime minister has broken the teeth of one who
failed to get out of his path!) If you were to shoot a supervisor here,
you would want to do like the other idiots that have done similar and take
your own life, before 7 million firearms owners take their wrath out on
you. The majority of people up here don't understand cause and effect and
would rather adjust the effect than work on the cause. The media, of
course is expert in its field ... Nobody would want to do research or
listen to it if it disagreed with them ... I'm ranting ... Sorry! (sort
of...)
