While that might work, it is much easier to work with the double stick
tape.  You can apply the tape to the back of the badge and leave the
backing on the outside of the sticky surface.  Using a very sharp knife
(Xacto works great) it is easy to trim the tape precisely along the
badge.  You can ever use it to install broken badges by spanning the
break.  The joint is scarcely visible!
