Jeff,
The cylinder head modification is a fairly straight-forward job - for
someone with the right experience and tools. The cylinder head is
removed, and the valves taken out of the head. A recess is machined
into the head at each valve location, and a hardened steel insert
fitted, which is machined to give the new valve seat. New valves should
ideally be fitted. This is also a good opportunity for a de-coke, while
the head is off.
That is pretty much it. In the UK, there are a number of places doing
the work, usually charging around 200-300 GBP (I think). Who you could
get to do this for you in the US, and how much they would charge, I do
not have the first idea - anyone out there got any ideas?
