Does it occur while driving or after shut down and attempted
re-starts?
If the former, it is usually the fuel pump that is getting 'vapor
locked' - try re-routing fuel lines away from any heat sources (block,
exhaust,etc).
If the latter, it could be the fuel in the float bowl
boiling/vaporizing. Try an insulating spacer between the intake and
the carb.
