I wouldn't worry about the milk if that is all you saw.

But your fixin to open another can of worms if you try lifting your motor
via balancer. If you do you might throw the balance out with even a slight
bend of the crank. If it gets bent and even not noticeable by the naked eye
it will cause harmonics and rods will eventually start looking for windows
in the side of the block or make doorways in the pan.

This is why you should never hammer a balancer on. Use a bolt and tighten it
so it presses the balancer on.


This also happens when people pull motors and leave the flywheel attached.
They bend the butt of the crank....but not always.... and I have seen it
happen.

For the Automatic ppl that leave the flexplate on...oh well,,, they bend the
flexplate not the crank.

If you don't have a hoist and chain then place 2x6's or 2x4's across the
bottom of pan and jack it(motor) up. Lay a piece of pipe across the fenders
and tie it(motor)up...then remove the jack and pan-handle away!

Any tips on this is appreciated. I may put a bottle jack under the harmonic
balancer and raise the engine an inch or so to get the pan in and out just a
little easier.
I appreciate any experinces anyone can share.
