Has anyone had any luck with the new electronic fuel pump (from
MiniMania) for the 1098 Morris? I replaced my SU pump with the
electronic model a few months ago, and I have had nothing but trouble
ever since. It seems the pump is unable to keep up with the engine's
normal demand for fuel, and frequently experiences a loss of prime, or
vapor lock. In cool weather, I am able to drive along pretty well; but
on a warm day, forget it.
I'd like to go back to the SU pump, frankly, but I haven't been able to
locate a point set for it. The pump on my car is an older model, with a
single spring-steel fixed contact point. It is that contact point which
is worn beyond its useful life. Anyone know where I can get a
replacement point set?
