Hi Larry,

There is no circlip on the Morris rear brakes. There is on the later Spridgets.
Are you sure that's a Morris Manual?

The removal of the rear wheel cylinder can sometimes be a bit sticky.
Disconnect
the parking brake cable from the cyl arm. Remove the rubber boot completely.
Now take out both the brake shoes. Easier to take out the adjuster first and
then the springs off the brake shoes. Now here comes the wiggle part!!!! The
wheel cylinder should come out of the car towards the axle end. Rotate the hub
so you have the wheel cyl between two of the wheel studs. By pulling it towards
you and twisting and wiggling, it should come out. Sometimes it hangs up a bit
on the axle flange, but about 95% of the time will come right out. If it
doesn't
come out, just remove the axle and you get some additional clearance. To remove
the axle, remove the single remaining screw in it and the axle should come right
straight out except when some overzealous DIY has glued it in with sillycone.
Then you need to pry it out with a claw hammer or pry bar. When you put the
axles back in, clean up both mating surfaces super clean and use a new O-ring
and
flange gasket.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Paul A
