I only have experience with Hagerty, who covered quite well when our '67
Minor convertible was near totaled in an accident - the stated value was
$5,000 for the unfinished restoration that still needed paint and carpets
and all of the new chrome and rubber, that I had already purchased,
installed. They put the wrecked car up for salvage bid on some sort of
internet system and were offered $500 for the salvage, so they sent me a
check for $4,500 and let me keep the car and didn't insist on a attatching
a salvage title to the car. The Morris was repainted and repaired well
(don't ask how much this cost in the end!) and now is in regular use. This
was a fair deal all the way around and also allowed us to save a rare (only
1050 1967 Morrises were imported!) car for someone to enjoy for years to
come.

Hello all:
While preparing to insure my "new" 1960 BT7 Austin-Healey 3000 here in the
US, I've contacted two specialty insurance companies. One is "J.C. Taylor,"
and the other is "American Collectors Insurance."
The latter seems to offer slightly better coverage, especially in terms of
(1) an annual increase in vehicle value to compensate for inflation, and (2)
with spare parts coverage up to $500.
Has anyone on the list had any experience with these firms, especially with
respect to responsiveness in light of a claim?
Any other suggestions or recommendations will be much appreciated.
