Chuck:

You could very well be right about the temp. gauges. The build sheet on
Scarlet does not say anything about additional gauges. Therefore either
they were standard from the works or they were added at the dealership.
Scarlet was delivered to the dealership in Malvern. I understand this
dealership is no longer in business, so who knows.

Scarlet was built in March of 1967 and delivered in April of 1967, but for
some strange reason she is registered in Texas as a 1963. Only thing I can
tell is somewhere in her past she was registered as a 1968 and some
dedicated overworked DMV person mis-read the 68 to be 63. I looked into
what would be required to change it and decided it was not worth it.

I just tell folks that my Morgan was caught in a quantum shift and was time
warped back to 1963 when she left the factory an before she was registered.
Isn't that what owning a Morgan is all about anywayand if you don't have the
build sheet who's going to know the difference?

Reality reality check
Gerry is right.
When I bought my 4/4 from Sutton and Phlug, the California DMV registered it
as a ''66 instead of a '65 because their cut off date for imported cars
which
were identified only by vehicle ID nos. had a cut of date of Sept. 30.
Matilda was registered on Oct. 8 therefore was a '66.

PS. Except for series V Compitition models, 4/4 s did not come from the
works
with a tach or a temp gauge. These were extras which the dealer installed.
If memory servs the temp gauge was not standard on the Comp.
