In the mid sixties Chuck Lowery, in California, put a Ford 260 or 289 in
a series 2 with a wheelbase shortened, if I remember correctly, to
7'-8''. Theoretically that would keep him legal under the rules of S. C.
C. A. at the time. He wrote a funny article for the ''FORMAT", the
monthly publication of the +4 club, titled "One does not a gorilla in a
bird cage put." Control was a bit of a problem if memories serves. The
car, when I saw it was in what looked like red primer with a tall roll
bar that really looked like a basket handle. Who knows, Gerry Wilburn
probably owns that one too.
Anyway Chuck's reasoning was based on updates.
