I know they banned hybrid (and was VERY disappointed), and I heard the
organizer talk about hybrids at the competition. I thought your car still had
batteries in it? So in 2004 (and 2005), that violated the rule about energy
storage devices starting at zero.

I didn't mean to say you guys didn't work hard at it. It's just that your
email conveyed exasperation and I thought that if I wanted to make a hybrid
car, I would still have done so in 2005 (even with the rule banning a hybrid).
But then again, I'm the last person to give up in most projects. This year we
have a team of 2 people, and a budget consisting of what amounts to a personal
revolving line of credit. We're still planning to compete in Mini Baja 100.

Anyway, sorry to hear how much hassle you guys went through. Maybe you guys
can still come in and compete in a class of your own (you didn't say if you've
asked for this) either this year or next year. With the proliferation of
hybrid automotive in the market, having experience designing a hybrid vehicle
would be an advantage in the job market.

Thanks,
