That sounds more like bearing shims - the ones to give a specified =
end-float of the hub on the spindle which is needed on the MGB roller =
bearings at least.  After that the disc position is what it is.

describes Midget/Sprite  and MGB bearings, saying that the former is not =
designed to be shimmed whereas the latter is.  Nevertheless they go on =
to describe shimming the Midget and Sprite, but on the same basis as for =
the MGB i.e. to get a certain play in the bearings.
