The heck with the hydrometer.  I drove it for an hour or so the other day, 
trickle charged it overnight, still wouldn't start today.

I just used my Saab to jump it - and it fired right up.  I'm going to 
conclude that the battery's shot, even though it's not that old.  I'll just 
be gettin' me a new battery, and will be done with this problem.
