Dennis: I have no idea if the following is true of all MGBs, but it should be for the early "banjo" MGB as it used basically the same setup as the MGA. The MGA swap to wire wheel requires the use of a wire wheel rear axle casing and half shafts. A disk wheel casing and its corresponding half shafts do not allow the half shafts to completely enter the spider gears.
