What's with the grease zirk on the new U-joint?

I just replaced the U-joints on the TD. The new Hardy Spicer HS194 unit has
a long grease zirk that severely limits the drive shaft angle in one
direction on the front yoke. At about 7 degrees the zirk bumps into one ear
of the fork. It may not be a problem, if the suspension does not allow the
drive shaft to stray that far from straight. Has anyone noticed this? I
wonder if I assembled the thing wrong. There is plenty of clearance on the
rear one.
