Scott, your oil pressure should be 70-75 lbs. If you had a new pump and
you are only getting 55 lbs pressure there is (was) a problem. I would
suspect the crank was bad and damaged the bearings or the bearings were
set too "loose". I don't think that 55lbs works.
My car has about 75 lbs at speed (any speed) and 55 lbs pressure at idle.
I have a stock oil pump and the standard relief spring. 12,000 miles on
rebuild. Castrol 20-50, and any kind of oil filter as long as it isn' t
Fram.
