Was Running on/Now coil output

Art,
  As I recall, the limiting factor was input voltage.
  If you fed the coil with a white wire w/green tracer you gave it 
ballasted (reduced) voltage; delivering less output. 
  Feeding it with a plain white wire gave it full battery voltage which 
delivered full 40K output.
