There are worse designs in our domestic "modern" designs, so take
heart...

Case in point; my son's '79 5 litre Mustang. When he bought it, he was
told that the clutch was a competition unit, and that's why it was so
stiff. A year later, and his left leg was two sizes bigger then his
right one (and he dresses on his right!). He finally decided to do
something about it because it was getting worse, so we ripped it apart.

The damned thing works by a CABLE, a VERY expensive cable. Not a one to
be found in any of the wreckers... there's a message here. Our
Canadian price was $175, so we ended up sourcing it from USA mail order
for $85 US (app.). I'd rather have to do the slave cylinder once in a
while.

Then there's that screwball centre actuator that jeep was using.
Non-repairable, and the thing couldn't be changed unless you dropped the
tranny. I notice that Cambridge Motorsport is selling the co-axial
clutch release mechanism for the "B" for $565 US plus shipping from
England. If it ever goes, you pull the engine; make that WHEN it goes
