If you nearly have enough room for the filter, then you probably have room
for a spin on remote kit. I don't know anything about the SD1 pump but the
spin on adapter is just slightly larger in diameter than the filter seating
area and 2-3" long. I used a universal Summit Racing kit ~$30. It included
the adapter, 4 thread adapters, straight fittings, 8 feet 1/2 inch hose, and
a filter base.

I changed the straight fittings on the adapter to one 90deg fitting and one
tee with a straight fitting, aimed vertically, for oil line and a reducer
for a mech. oil pressure gauge. On my Olds engine, with the metric oil
pump, the base aims 45deg toward and slightly below the frame rail, so
straight fittings would work if you put the filter in the wheel well, but I
mounted mine on the front of the block on the opposite side so I wanted
fittings that came up, hence the 90 deg fitting.

Good luck,
james
