Lawrie,

Your P Type's oil pressure doesn't need to be 80 psi. If it stays  
there it will do more harm than good, but you didn't say how long you  
cranked it over. If it was mine I would check the oil pressure relief  
valve and then get the engine in the car where you can run it. When  
the engine is warmed up the pressure should be in the 60-65 psi range  
but the pressure doesn't really matter, what matters is OIL FLOW but  
don't get me started !
