Don
I use motorcycle weights and solder to balance my spoked wheels. The tape type fall off at speed.

I have just finished balancing and truing 5 brand new wheels for PA. The truing was more simple (but very time consuming) than I imagined. Using a readout gauge, and old hub mounted in vise, a spoke wrench and my "ear" ... the wobble is all but gone.

However, the balancing has been another matter. I used adhesive backed lead tape (stolen from my golf bag where I have been trying to tune a slicey driver for two years), but was amazed at the amount of weight I had to add.
These wheels/tires have never been on the ground ... should I wait until I have a few miles before attempting?
Any tricks to share?

Thanks,

Don B.
