Phil,
Buy BOSCH 009 distributor from any VW dealers, ask machine shop to cut
4mm off at the bottom flange, then remove BOSCH drive end,
get secondhand drive end from Midget or MGB distributors
(Lucas D23 or D25 etc) and fit it. That's it. Simple job.
