Hi Terry, and all
I would not worry much about the missing relief valve
for your filter. My local friends and I, we have thrown
out this valve from our filter-bowls since more than a year.

After removing we found our oilpressure about 5 to 10 pounds
lower than before, which showed us, that most of the time
the relief valve acts as a kind of by-pass, and the filter really was
not a mainstream filter all the time.
It depends on the tension of the tiny spring inside the valve.

As long as you do your normal regular filter-change, we see no
danger from not using this relief valve.
But any idea which could change our mind would be welcome!

Gerhard
