The vertical conduit on my P type (same principle as for the J) needed
to be a bit less that 1" id to accommodate the fatter wiring looms that
are supplied these days.

The thinner conduits you describe were probably off the main battery
wire where it runs along the chassis.  My P had 3 of these of varying
lengths (which I can dig out and let you know if you are interested). =20

Gentlemen

On the J2 there is a piece of flex conduit fitted to the wiring loom in
front
of the firewall on the left side low down.

Does anyone have details on length and diameter for this conduit?

We have two bits (one smaller dia and a little shorter than the other)
either
of which might have been fitted to our car when we got it, and it's all
too
long ago to remember whether I swapped them at some time.
